Imagine if there were no schools near your home to send your children to. Imagine if you couldn't afford school for your children, knowing that an education was their only hope for a bright future. What would your child grow up to do if they couldn't read or write? Would they be able to learn a trade? Probably not in this day and age! It's hard to be a plumber when you can't order parts. It's impossible to be a teacher or lawyer or doctor without a GOOD education. In desperation, would they turn to the streets, to crime, to drugs?
Education is a vital thread in holding our society together.
EDUCATION IS A HUMAN RIGHT!
Check this out, from the United Nations: "The United Nations first articulated the right to education in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article 28 stipulates that everyone has the right to a free and compulsory elementary education, with technical, professional and higher education equally accessible to all on the basis of merit. The purpose of education is to promote the full development of the human personality and to strengthen respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Yet worldwide today, it is estimated that 69 million children are not in school and approximately one adult in six is unable to read or write."
AND SO, WE BUILD SCHOOLS FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT.
Building schools shows such kindness, caring for children who DO NOT have a chance. Building schools shows wisdom, training up the children who will grow up to be our future! Building schools give us an opportunity to share the GOOD NEWS, and maybe have church in the school building Sunday morning! We get to offer healthcare, which is another human right! As you know, we get to build rotational grazing, which MAY be the best answer to one of Nigeria's toughest issues! Schools bring PEACE, as children learn together!
Can I change the whole world? Can you? No, but together we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of one child, two children, three... And now, after many years, together we have educated THOUSANDS of children!
Praise God for the schools we have built together in Nigeria!
Praise God for the lives changed!
LET'S BUILD SOME MORE SCHOOLS!

Would You Like To Help Build A Church?
From Phyllis: We worshipped at this new Free Methodist Church in Lokoja, Kogi State. The land and building belong to the Free Methodist Church, but as you can see, the money wasn't there to build a proper structure. I wonder if we couldn't raise enough to help!? It will cost $15,000. These beautiful folks at House Of Mercy Church are worshipping the Lord. Let's build a solid church for these brothers and sisters in Christ!

Make sure to designate donations for House Of Mercy Church as 'church'! Please consider sending in a check for large donations, to avoid fees, thank you!
ANOTHER New School! Praise God!
Idaku Primary School & Clinic!
From Phyllis: Good morning, friends! We returned to Idaku School expecting to witness the borehole drill, but that didn't happen. Apparently the machine had some mechanical challenges that need repair, but the borehole was successfully dug!
Other work is going forward, as you can see! The school roof is taking shape, and the clinic walls are up!
