For hundreds of years the Fulani, nomadic herdsmen found in great numbers throughout West Africa, (an estimated 25 million in Nigeria alone,) have been disenfranchised as a people group. Owning no land of their own, they've not had access to the advantages and opportunities enjoyed by the landowners - amenities such as schools for their children, to name just one.
Schools for Africa, believing that ALL children have the right to a good education, has opened six schools for Fulani children in Rivers, Kogi, and Niger States. Two additional schools will open in September, 2020 in Kogi and Nasarawa States. With 600 children now in school and more to come, we'd like to invite you to help with this important project, an initiative bringing hope for a better future for the Fulani people.
We invite you to join us by sponsoring one or more of these children, by supporting them with textbooks, uniforms and school fees, allowing them to complete their studies and move on to a life full of hope and opportunity! The photos you see on this page are of Fulani children presently enrolled in the Mogodi Camp School in Rivers State.
Thank you, on behalf of Schools for Africa and the Fulani people we serve.
