How I Spent My Birthday...

I spent my birthday testing 34 applicants for the Garbagal school! There would have been more, but my trusty police escort, Officer Ya'u, screened each newcomer outside, then brought me the application to either accept or reject, (based on the minimum requirement of degree or diploma from Teacher's College,) then brought those eligible for the test I gave! It was an all day process. Then, at around 5 pm, some men came to tell me that among the applicants, many already had jobs in the local government! Thank God I'd not yet hired anyone! So tomorrow I'll go to the Secretariat and have the payroll officer pull out those applicants that shouldn't be there!! Crazy.I have a new acronym to add to TIA, and that is, BOYG.  Be On Your Guard!

It's nearly 7 am, with Shane still asleep in his tent....it was a noisy night and most of us got little sleep. There's a platoon of police living in the building - they'd been out on patrol only to return, very noisily, at around 2 am. Then there are the feral dogs howling at all hours, and the chickens that come alive at around 5!! Oh well, TIA!!

Love and blessings,

Phyllis
